ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
PAY AND PERQUISITES
7. Pay & Allowances. During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).
8. Promotion. Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 47,600- ₹ 1, 51,100) plus MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations.
9. Perquisites.(a) During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given musical instruments, books, reading material, uniforms, food and accommodation etc. free of cost. (b) Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents, Group Housing Benefits and other privileges. Sailors are also entitled to Annual and Casual Leave, Children Education and House Rent Allowances. Postretirement benefits include pension, gratuity and Leave encashment. All perquisites are extended as per service conditions and their eligibility/admissibility is regulated as per government orders in force and amended from time to time.
10. Insurance Cover. Insurance cover (on contribution) of Rs 50 lakhs for all sailors is applicable.
SELECTION CRITERIA
11. Due to COVID–19 Pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein approximately 300 candidates will be called up for Music Test and PFT.
Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performancein Music Screening Board and subject to clearing PFT at Kunjali and Enrolment Medicals examination at Chilka.
12. Shortlisting of candidates for Music Test will be undertaken on the basis of music certificates attached. Order of precedence will be as follows: -
(a) Degree in music (b) Diploma in music (c) Other graded certificates (d) Certificates of Competitions (e) Awards (f) Participation (g) Experience (h) Music as a subject/ paper in matriculation is not valid.
Note: In case number of candidates, having similar qualification exceeds the numbers of vacancies, the shortlisting will be carried on the basis of 10th marks.
13. (a) The Music Screening Board will be conducted on the date and slot given in the call up letter. Verification of age, education qualification, music certificates and musical ability along with physical fitness of the candidate will be assessed during Music Screening Board.
(b) Those who qualify the Music Screening Board will be required to undergo Enrolment Medical Examination tentatively scheduled in the month of October 2021.
14. Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The PFT will be conducted for all candidates appearing for the Music Test. Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection. PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
15. Medical Standards.
(a) Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
(b) Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms. Details regarding minimum height standards for entry into the Indian Navy as Sailors, including applicable relaxations, can be accessed from the official recruitment website.
(c) The candidates must be in good physical and medical health free, from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions in any part of the world as per Navy Order (Spl) 01/2008.
(d) Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist and back (dorsal) part of hand/reverse side of palm. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptable and candidate will be banned from recruitment.
(e) Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to examination.

TRAINING AND INITIAL ENGAGEMENT
17. Training. The training for the course will commence in October 2021, with 15 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka in Odisha. Thereafter the trainees are sent to Mumbai for 26 weeks specialised training in Military Music.
18. Discharge as Unsuitable. Sailors are liable to be discharged as UNSUITABLE due to unsatisfactory performance at any time during the training.
19. Initial Engagement. The initial engagement is subjected to successful completion of training. The initial engagement is for 15 years.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
20. The applications are to be filled online on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in and all required documents in original are to be scanned and uploaded. Application received through speed post/registered post or couriers will be rejected. The selection procedure is as follows:-

21. For this entry, the candidates can apply ONLINE ONLY on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 02 Aug 21 to 06 Aug 21. The procedure is as follows:-
(a) Before filling online application, keep music certificate, matric pass certificate & 10th Mark sheet ready for reference. Update your Aadhaar details if you wish to use the simplified application process.
(b) Register yourself on www.joinindiannavy.gov.in with your E-mail ID, if not registered already. The Applicants must ensure that while filling theirApplication Form, they are providing their valid and active e-mail IDs and mobile numbers as the Navy may use electronic mode of communication while contacting them at any stages.
(c) ‘Log–in’ with the registered E-mail ID and Click on “Current Opportunities”.
(d) Click on “Apply” (√) button.
(e) Fill up the Form completely. Before clicking the ‘Submit’ button make sure all the details are correct and all required documents are scanned in original and uploaded.
(f) Examination Centre. Mumbai.
(g) Online applications will be further scrutinised for eligibility and may be rejected if found noteligible in any respect.
(h) Photograph. THE PHOTOGRAPH TO BE UPLOADED SHOULD BE OF GOOD QUALITY WITH BLUE BACKGROUND.
22. The application may be uploaded from Common Service Centres (CSC) across the country, against a fixed fees of Rs 60 + GST. This facility is entirely optional.

24. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
* Navy reserves the right to examined and validate the applications. No communication shall be entertained on this account.
* Only one online application form is to be submitted by a candidate. Candidates who submit more than one application for the same entry or apply for more than one examination center will be disqualified.
It is mandatory to submit a negative RT-PCR laboratory report of COVID-19 from Govt/ ICMR accredited laboratory by candidatesat the time of written examination(Report should be dated maximum 96 hours prior to reporting date).
